What is EMPLOYERS business?

Employers Holdings, Inc., through its insurance subsidiaries, Employers Insurance Company of Nevada, Employers Compensation Insurance Company, AmCOMP Assurance Corporation and AmCOMP Preferred Insurance Corporation, is a specialty provider of workers’ compensation insurance focused on select small businesses engaged in low to medium hazard industries.

What is the history of EMPLOYERS?

EMPLOYERS commenced operations as a private domestic mutual insurance company on January 1, 2000 when its Nevada insurance subsidiary, Employers Insurance Company of Nevada, assumed the assets, liabilities and operations of the Nevada State Industrial Insurance System that had over 80 years of workers compensation experience in Nevada.  In 2002, we acquired the renewal rights to a book of workers’ compensation insurance business, primarily comprising accounts in California, and we were able to establish our important relationships and distribution agreements with ADP, Inc. and Wellpoint, Inc.  In January of 2007, we converted to a stock corporation from a mutual insurance holding company and completed an initial public offering.  On October 31, 2008, we acquired AmCOMP Incorporated.

Yes. EMPLOYERS common stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on January 31, 2007, under the symbol EIG.
